Regular events
|
There are several events that regularly take place throughout the year. Bring & Share Lunches are when we bring and share food, usually following a morning service. They happen every two months and all are welcome to join in.
The Glorious Twelfth is the name given to a series of social events, ranging from a walk in the Peak district, cricket matches, through film nights and talent shows to open houses and visits to other organisations. The time of day will depend on the activity and details will be found in the church calendar. The Hunger Lunch takes place on the first Sunday in December. Instead of going home to eat, we stay at church for a more frugal meal (usually jacket potato & cheese). Money that would have been spent on the Sunday Lunch is then given to a local charity (usually HARC - Homeless & Rootless at Christmas). Carols & Mince Pies takes place on the Saturday before Christmas Eve. We gather outside the church to sing carols and give away hot coffee & mince pies to passers-by and the local shops.
Carol Singing on Christmas Eve when we go round houses in the local area who have requested a visit. At least 2 carols are sung for a donation (usually for Action for Children). If you would like a visit, fill in the Contact form and we will see what we can do. |
